Their hands-on involvement in every project—including providing deep subject matter expertise, experience, and leadership and training abilities—is of great benefit to our clients.
Edward Tuorinsky, a Service-Disabled Veteran, brings nearly two decades of experience to DTS in areas of leadership, management consulting and information technology services. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Tuorinsky was a Captain and logistics officer in the U. S. Army, serving at various locations nationally and abroad, including Korea, Germany and Kosovo. For ten years, he also headed the professional services divisions of two federal government consulting firms, managing multi-million-dollar project portfolios, with billions of program dollars at stake. Prior to that, Mr. Tuorinsky worked for L-3 Communications, where he provided project management and consulting expertise for the development of several federal government logistical systems.
Mr. Tuorinsky is best known among his clients and colleagues for his indispensable leadership and vision as well as his integrity. He holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the College of William and Mary and a Project Management Professional certification. Additionally, he is trained in CMMI methodologies.
As Director of Professional Services, Melissa Ho builds on 20 years of experience and expertise in business process management, governance and training, developed in service of a wide variety of federal government agencies across the civilian and defense sectors. Prior to joining DTS, she spent nine years managing government consulting projects, where she focused largely on business process reengineering, change management, and training/instructional design projects, with extensive work in areas of federal acquisitions and finance. Previously, Ms. Ho was a training coordinator for American Management Systems.
She holds a Masters of Education in adult education from George Mason University and a Bachelors of Arts in English literature from the University of Virginia. Additionally, she is a certified Project Management Professional and trained in CMMI methodologies.
Director of Military Health
As Director of Military Health, Nichole Priddy brings over 15 years of experience in contract management, business process improvement, change management, and communications. Prior to joining DTS, she spent five years managing multi-million-dollar projects across the Defense Health Agency (DHA) for Cherokee Nation Businesses (now Cherokee Nation Federal). Prior to that, Ms. Priddy worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, where she primarily consulted on communications, change management, and knowledge management. She utilizes efficient and effective methods to standardize business processes and is extremely well-versed in government organizational and administrative practices. She holds an undergraduate degree in Communications.
Carolina Ravinskas brings a wealth of expertise in business process improvement, change management, communications and training to her position at DTS. Ms. Ravinskas has worked with a wide variety of federal government agencies across the civilian and defense sectors, implementing a user-centered design approach to all project solutions. Prior to joining DTS, she spent six years working in the international development sector primarily focused on communications and knowledge management, and seven years managing defense and security projects related to business process re-engineering, training, and organizational change.
She holds an MA in Communication focused on science-based behavior-change methodologies from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
Director of Operations
Brian Sims, a retired Air Force Officer, brings over 20 years of experience to DTS. Before joining the firm, Mr. Sims was a Joint Qualified Officer-Level 3 and logistics readiness squadron commander leading core logistics functions. He has worked extensively coordinating the Air National Guard inputs and meeting mandated reporting requirements for Air National Guard equipment, vehicles, and resources.
As the Director of Operations Mr. Sims collaborates with senior leadership, setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, marketing and growth, and human resources. He helps translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, supporting DTS’ inclusive culture, and ensuring team members thrive.
Mr. Sims is a mentor via his extensive LinkedIn network and through the Veterati online mentoring platform. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Business Development and IT Operations
Derek Kernus came to DTS with a strong background in sales, IT and government compliance. He was a successful regional sales manager for several strategic technology firms, including Stratix Systems. While there he was instrumental in improving internal processes and implementing a CRM database. He also served as a summer consultant at DTS while working on his MBA.
Within IT Systems, Mr. Kernus will continue to expand business opportunities by exploring emerging technologies, enhancing the firm’s use of technology solutions, and monitoring DTS’s compliance with DoD IT security controls. His skills will also be applied to clients with a need for process improvement and technology transformation.
Derek Kernus has been recognized for his leadership abilities with the William and Mary Cypher Award and served on the Executive Board for MBAA and the MBA Student Council. He holds a Master of Business Administration from William and Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business.
